Dubai charges ahead...

Dubai has the world’s greatest concentration of English-medium international private schools, with around 280 based in the city - and the number is growing all the time. But how many school places will be needed over the next few years, and what will this continued growth mean for parents?

As Dubai continues to boom, a new report says the city will need 74,500 additional seats in 50 new private schools by 2020. In this article you can read an interview with the Director of Education Development at the KHDA, the body responsible for private education in Dubai, who talks about this growth and how the city's education sector is set to evolve.

She talks about how the variety of schools on offer to families is likely to grow, and how the competition between increasing numbers of schools should help to drive a continuing improvement in standards. It's a picture of ever-greater diversity and choice - something which can only enhance the city's appeal even further.
