Our seven Math Club students have been competing in monthly American Scholastic Mathematics Association (ASMA) contests. This mathematics enrichment service provides our students an opportunity to compete internationally with other high ability students across the world. This month, seventh grade student, Ken, placed among the top highest-scoring students in the Junior Division. Eleventh grade student, Sooyoung, placed among the top highest-scoring students in the Senior Division.

In addition to the ASMA contests, our middle school Math Club students will start the MathCounts competition series this week. MathCounts is a "middle school coaching and competitive mathematics program that promotes mathematics achievement through a series of fun and engaging "bee" style contests." Our middle school Math Club students have also been completing weekly cryptography challenges from the Alan Turing cryptography competition organised by the School of Mathematics at the University of Manchester. Congratulations our two high-scoring students and all our mathletes who participate in Math Club every week! Contributed by Ms. Tarabelli, Middle School Math Teacher and Department Coordinator
