BGIFC (British Guiding in Foreign Countries) is celebrating 50 years of Guiding in the UAE this year and to mark the event, Cranleigh Brownies and Rainbows joined 200 fellow Guiders for a weekend in the desert.
The children spent the weekend camping at Arabian Nights Village in the Al Khatim Desert, between Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. They enjoyed a range of activities such as sand-boarding, camel riding, henna, sand painting and of course the obligatory camp-fire sing-song. The Chief Guide herself joined the group which was a huge honour, and the Commissioner for BGIFC also attended from the UK. Well done to all those Rainbows and Brownies from Cranleigh who joined in the fun.
