Year 3 pupils had a wonderful time celebrating Roman Day today!

Our Year 3 boys and girls came to school in all their Roman finery today, and spent lessons enjoying a wide range of activities and events, from making bullas (Roman lucky necklaces) and soldier ID tags out of clay, to building their own Roman structures. They were also put through drills on the field, where they practiced marching and demonstrated different protective formations with their shields. At lunchtime, everyone enjoyed a delicious Roman banquet with authentic homemade breads, cheese paste, lamb stew, stuffed dates and honey cakes provided by the parents: truly a feast fit for an emperor or empress.
