The U12 and U14 football teams travelled to Doha College to start their league fixtures and it was a tale of hat trick heroines for both teams.

The U12 girls dominated their game but with D.C. scoring their only shot of the first half the score line was evenly balanced at 1-1. Sherborne came out for the second half with fire in their bellies. Every girl worked hard to create more goal scoring opportunities and Jowaher Al Thani duly finished them to claim a hat trick. Frances Rosiak completed the scoring to make the final score 4-2. U14s started against the much fancied Doha College with a mix of last year's winners and some girls who hadn't even played football before. It took the girls a while to get used to playing 9 aside together but they gradually came more and more into the game. Ellie Richmond started the scoring but DC turned the fixture on its head and led 2-1 until 3 minutes to go. The girls knuckled down, chased and harried every ball. Halaa Saber, in her first ever game of football, broke up an attack and created the equalizer. With the game looking like a draw, Ellie struck a wonder goal from distance to win our first game in the league. U14 Final Score 3-2 win for Sherborne. #GoSherbs #SherborneQatar
