The way to a Czech's heart is through his stomach and the country is renowned for its delicious, hearty cuisine: dumplings filled with fruit or poppy seeds; deep-fried cheese; 'trdelník' (sweet pastry wrapped around a stick); 'svíčková' (beef sirloin cooked in cream sauce); 'kulajda' (potato, mushroom and dill soup, topped with a poached egg); roast pork with sauerkraut and dumplings – these are just a few of the many traditional dishes which can be sampled in the restaurants, cafés and bars of the towns and cities.

TRAVEL NEAR AND FAR
The Czech Republic lies at the heart of Europe, bridging east and west. Jump on a bus, take a train or go by car – the modern, efficient transport network will take you near and far at reasonable prices. Paris, Madrid, Berlin, Krakow and many other cultural destinations are only a few hours away. So 'czech' in for a ride...
