In our latest ‘Meet the Team’ blog, Winter’s is delighted to introduce Carolyn Savage, our Head of International Education.

Carolyn Savage grew up as a Third Culture Kid (TCK), expat and ‘global citizen’ - a heady start in life! While living in Holland, Carolyn attended The British School in the Netherlands before completing her education at Sherborne School for Girls, in the UK.

Carolyn pursued a career as a teacher, completing her PGCE at the University of Cambridge in the UK, and has now worked for over 15 years in independent and international schools, everywhere from Sumatra to Bratislava. Carolyn is also a linguist, with qualifications in five languages: English, Dutch, French, German and Russian.

In 2015 Carolyn decided to move back to the UK to be closer to her family. As Head of International Education, she works on a daily basis with the CEO and Editorial team to maintain the educational integrity of the Winter’s website. Carolyn also writes PR for Winter’s, blogging for The Huffington Post on a regular basis, as well as other expat publications and local tabloids around the world, and represents Winter’s at conferences.

Carolyn says, “I am genuinely passionate about international education. In this increasingly globalised world, intercultural relations are key; global citizenship is becoming more and more vital in 21st century society. I consider myself extremely lucky to be working in this field, and to be able to explore my passion for education further by helping families choose the right school for their children. I’ve seen first-hand how difficult frequent relocation can be for parents and children alike, and Winter’s enables me to play a small but important role in making the process easier for everyone involved. Winter’s gives me the opportunity to deepen my industry knowledge, and I’m really enjoying it, as my involvement in Winter’s goes from strength to strength.”
