Hong Kong Academy is a dynamic learning community that provides a rigorous international education characterised by mutual benefit and support. As an educational leader, HKA empowers learners to pursue pathways to individual excellence by fostering creativity, communication and problem-solving skills. HKA learners develop an evolving understanding of our changing world, leading them to engage in responsible action motivated by their interests, strengths and ongoing reflection. HKA is committed to maintaining a diverse, collaborative and captivating learning environment in which students become adaptable, confident and tolerant, equipping them for the future. HKA offers the opportunity for a high level of parental involvement within the classroom, organised by teachers, with school-wide activities, organised by the Hong Kong Academy Community Organisation (HKACO), and on various Board committees. Opportunities range in the types of activity and the level of time commitment that is required. Helping in the library, accompanying a field trip, bringing expertise into the classroom, planning an evening social event for parents, listening to young readers, serving on a Board committee – these are all ways that HKA parents get involved every day. The Admissions Policy at Hong Kong Academy is consistent with our values as a community and diversity based school. We view each student as an individual and evaluate their ability to succeed in the classroom as well as our ability to enable them to reach their full potential. We expect every student and family to be contributing members of our school community.
